Default Hay and flashing

do i need to put any hay in my hermanns table?also what does flashing mean?what do they do,is it only boys who do itsorry am very new to tortoise keeping

Hay is not really necessary, I use soil only, and I have planted grass as well.

Flashing is when a male tortoise has it's penis out.

sorry I wondered if it means thatso will my 3 month old tortoise do this??what does their penis look like or is that a silly question?oh sorry i am getting embarrased

so if I give Timothy lots of baths,then even though he is 3 months I might be able to tell if he is a boy????It wont be as big as that one on the video though will it?

It depends on how randy he is feeling Jackie But they can show their bits at any time. I have seen one of mine mating a rock at about two years old.

My Norm who's about 5 has never flashed nor has he shown any sexual behaviour to anyone or anything, do you think he could be a Norma, or just a bit shy?
