5th nest for mango- red foot
Quite a shock as i went in to clean them out and mango is digging a nest i thought she has finished for this year.
This is her 5th lot of eggs (when they come out lol) Not had much luck with red foots hatching took a few old eggs to Darren and he opened them and they had died in early incubation. So im going to clean the eggs with F10 this time around to see if that helps. Mango decided to dig her nest in the weeds i put in there again.

Thanks if anyone else has any tips that would be great.
I incubate them at 29.5c and humidity at 70%-80%, eggs are resting on top of vermiculite (however will dig them in a bit more from now on).

Sarah,
I was reading a paper this week on effects of artifical ultraviolet exposure on reproductive sucess of panther chameleons, a simular reptile to the redfoot tortoise, in as much as they do not need huge amounts of UV - the study concluded that under and over exposure resulted in poor fertility and a number of dead in shell chameleons thought to have died due to lack of calcium during early development ! Just thought it may be of interest ! Dazza |

interesting read Dazza but my reds have a strip UVB as ive had problems with their eyes with the combined. Maybe its my male. No wonder hardly any one breeds reds, meds are so much easier.
