I would leave mum bun to look after them for at least the first 3 weeks, but obviously as the weather is mild you are going to have to try and spot clean without disturbing her so as to prevent flystrike ( I already had my first case this year in a really well kept bunny/client situ and very sad outcome so really all be on alert). they usually start ocming out of the nest alone and eating/nibbling hay etc at 18days+, ok to start handling a little then, I would rub your hands on the bedding to make them smell ok to mum.
7 babies are alot, guess you'll have your hands full now!! Please do get mum bun spayed, it is best for her as you dont want to breed her.

My female lionhead kiera has just had 5 babies
We did not intend to breed them, we already let her have one litter when she was just under the age of one, and have not put her with my male rabbit. The only thing I can think of is occationally one goes in a run, and the other runs around the garden I know this sounds mad but they must have bred through wire as never let them out together!! She is over three years old, Ive heard they're pelvic bones fuse together at the age of two... Do you think we should a close eye on her tonight or let her be? I know its important not to disturb the babies, but mayb its best to make sure she passes them ok? Jo x |

Kim I couldn't see your pics
Thanks hpvet, thats a great relief to know! I was scared she may have some more she is unable to pass. Its awful that my vet gave me wrong info though!! They told me if a rabbit gets pregnant past the age of two its best to abort the babies as she will not be able to pass them Jo x |
