Thank you I was really upset when he was first diagnosed but consoled myself with the fact that he would soon be sorted out but that just hasn't happened
I love him so much. He isn't like a cat. He is so loving and placid and he looks at you like he really knows what I'm talking about. He has been through so much already what with losing his leg etc.. and then no one wanting him. For us, it was love at first sight and I feel blessed to have him as part of our family.
He is completely oblivious to all this. Bless his great big, soppy heart. He is currently snoring away very loudly

Well George is now back on the human insulin. Levels still very high at 25 last week. He is now on 14 graduations on the syringe which is a very high dosage. (he has this amount twice a day)
In vets today so the vet could take some blood to be sent off to test for FIV (Feline Aids), FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitus) and Feline Leukemia
I personally do not think he has any of these as he seems so well but they must be ruled out. However I am still very worried and am praying that they all come back clear.
Vet said that he has never ever come across a cat like this and he is very worried.
George is back in the vets on thursday for another glucose curve.

Well Georges levels went down to 21.3 today Still high but lowest ever for George
Still waiting on test results though have my fingers crossed that he is negative for all.
Insulin up to 16 twice a day. Vet still thinks that George has an underlying problem it's just finding out what it is and hoping that it isn't too serious

Wow. 16 twice a day must be a hell of a lot for a cat! MY boyfriend takes about 10-12 per meal and he's 14st.. that to a cat must be like 400 to a human..

My fingers are crossed for you. I really hope they find out what this possible secondary problem is, and that it's all sorted out quickly xx

Thanks Zoe
Vet said it is a huge dose. For his weight he should be on a maximum of 8 which would normally have his levels under control. He has been on 14 and they're still over 20
I gave him his first dose of 16 tonight
