Default paperwork for Sulcata

when I get him on Tuesday does his previous owner need to have microchipped him or give me any paperwork or is this not neccessary for a Sully?

Chipping for a Sulcata would be for your benefit only. It's not a bad idea.

Suggestion... have it done in the front forelimb. It would be less likely to migrate and easier to read... advice from a UK vet now residing in GA.

would 4 inches of tort be large enough to chip.

That's probably a lower limit with the chips I'm aware of.

Do you say that because nobody would want to steal a sully? I want to do it incase when he is older he escapes by diggiing although I am sure my garen is secure

You do understand I'm saying it is a good idea to have the tortoise chipped even though it is not required for a Sulcata.

A plastron photo will also help with identification.
Ours never burrowed that much and they get very big quite soon.
