Morning all...
Does anybody have pictures and/or info on setups for a Burmese brown? I've been offered one which is just the most gorgeous little thing but not a species I know anything about. Thanks guys |

Beautiful tortoises but they get very large (60cm+).
This is a good caresheet for them.. http://www.tortoise-protection-group...eetMay2008.pdf

http://shelledwarriors.co.uk/forum/s...Burmese+Browns I love these torts and used them as my topic for a short essay(!) I wrote when I did the TT course on tortoise and turtle care a few years ago. |

Important points... is it a WC animal... obtained through either confiscation or importation... and... how big is it now?

Housing is pretty much the same as Redfoots, just that they like it a bit wetter and the whole enclosure 26 to 30C during the day as they don't thermoregulate, ie. they don't bask much.

Doncaster, had a few very nice young specimens of this fascinating Tortoise species. The German breeder was offering well grown 2010 young at attractive prices. The offer it seems was eagerly taken by IHS members whom attended, as they had all been sold by early afternoon.
My guess is, there will be a few new keepers seeking husbandry advice in the coming days! |

You didn't mention you were going to Doncaster. Did you drive up with Steve? Did you make it over to Lukes place? How was the show over all?

I went up there on Friday and attended the FBH conference as well yesterday. However, I did see Steve and Luke at the Show today. In terms of Chelonia being exhibited, by far the best were from www.reptilia24.com All specimens offered appeared in great condition and for the most part of CB origin. Check out his list for an idea of species available? |
