fighting torts
thinking of my new 3 reds that i am getting soon
if in general torts are from the same clutch and have been together since birth are they less likey to fight than torts that r introduced to each other at a later stage what can be done to minimse fighting i know about hides, shelter, putting sight breakrs in the nclosure anything else i need to know thanks linda |

three of my torts are from the same clutch and they bite each others faces, and one has a wound sadly, but the wound is only small fortunately.
I always watch them eat all there food as this is mainly when they fight, also when one bites another i point my finger right in his face so it scares him and i shout NO! Hopefully ill get some classical conditioning and he will associate biting with fear. |

i have 3 hermanns which are all about 2 years old but from different breeders and lucky they have lived together for about a year together with no problems. they eat together quiet often sharing the same leaf.

I have eight smaller ibera tortoises from different clutches all living together, with no problems at
all. Its down to the grumpyiness of a tortoise I expect<g>.

Great thing about redfoots is they are none aggressive tortoises unlike the rowdy med species reds are quite happy living together even adult males tollerate each other really well Darren |
