Default Do your redfoots like the rain??

Hi since I have got my tortoises it hasn't stop raining , do your tortoises like the rain ? Mine have not come out of the house yet seem very quiet is this normal ( used to leopards ) there in to everyone and everything lol x

My sullys love the rain. Have you had them very long? They might just be settling in.

My 4 leos love the rain there's me worrying and they having super time ... But my reds have been buried all day and no sign of saying hi !!! New mum feelings lol xxxx

Northern Redfoots do not do well at all in cold and rainy.

If that's been the case you might consider bringing them in and warming them up.

If that does not help... a vet visit might be in order.

I think different species like/dislike rain. I have notice my Marginated's dont seem to like it, infact the females hate it! But Hermans dont seem to mind & often come out for a wonder round whilst its pouring down.

If yours are new to you Kate they are probably hiding & in the settling in stage. I take it they have somewhere warm/dry to retreat to?

My redfoot doesn't mind the rain but it took a good week of settling in before he would venture out in it...he won't stay out in it that long though he decides he's cold and goes inside again!

hi yes they have a fully heated shed in garden ( warmer then my house lol ) no bubbles from nose now and eating well and even a little stroll round their garden today seem happy , will post pics 2morw of there house and garden etc x

My reds seem indifferent to the rain, but they don't live outside yet. They never make any effort to move to their hides though if it rains. Can't wait to see the pics!
