Not sure though about making the basking area a "seperate room". Seems like it would be making it more difficult for your tortoise to find the basking area.

He seemed to find it just fine he explored the whole area and now hes gone to bed.

Well done Roberta it looks great, just see how he gets on with the separate basking area, you can always change it if you need to , other than that, it looks just fine, well done

with the heat just at the one end what's the temp elsewhere? the barrier would stop the lamp from warming the whole table, you'll need to keep the room at the min of 20c especially in the winter months. Also most torts wake by the heat lamp comming on in the morning if he can't see or feel it you may have problems with him not getting up, he needs, when he's cold first thing to be able to find and get to the heat source to get going. It looks a lovely table though, well done.

Looks very nice, as others have said keep an eye on the temps in the bigger area.

Hes in my living room which has a digital thermometer heating goes on if it goes below 18c we have chosen the name bruce.
