Default Female aggression

Hi

I think one of my female pancakes may be gravid. I have cameras on the pancake enclosures which i switch on so that i can see if an egg is laid and by whom. All my female pancakes are fine with each other, I have never seen aggression between them yet today when viewing the footage i found the female which i believe is gravid, chasing some of the other females, one in fact managed to turn upside down and this female started biting at the others legs whilst she was upside down, the female that was bitten seems fine no injuries but i have never noticed this before. The question i have is are gravid females more hormonal making them potentially more aggressive?

Thanks

I am not sure about gravid females but maybe its time to separate the little madam for a bit....xx I cant advise about hormones (not even my hormones..) but any type of agression should be watched and action taken if it continues for too long. Hope you get some replies to your other points. Wishing you luck. What a Diva, eh?? xx

*BUMP* I bumped this up as I dont have an answer to Alex's key 'hormonal' question here, I only put my opinion on the biting, aggression. Anyone in the know of this type of behaviour provide any opinion or advice. I hate to think that its just my small answer. xx Cheers.

Wink

Probably her hormones. It happens in other species so why not pancakes. If she isn't causing any real damage I would leave her to it. Wouldn't want to unsettle her by moving her elsewhere is she's going to lay.
