Could be a hybrid not a true ornata I don't think as the plastron pattering is a little vague not patterned enough for Bauri or Eastern. My Paul will know I'll ask him. Geomyda would also know Have you bought him?
Difficult to see exactly but looks like his back claws have been cut which means he will be no good for mating.

It's an Ornate male, Terrapene ornata ornata. I don't see any crossing or hybridizing with anything else. He shouldn't have any trouble getting the job done mating wise.

The cut toe nail issue with these was discussed at the Chelonia Conference this weekend, and it was said there could well be serious problems for the male during/after the actual "event".
