problems with Pet Supermarket ?
Hi guys,
I purchased one of those combined heat /UVA lightbulbs (solarglo ?) from Pet Supermarket, with a 12 month guarantee which I thought was pretty good as alot seem to only have 6 mnths guarantee. Anyway, the lamp stopped working after about 9 months so I sent it back and they sent me a replacement, pretty quickly as well I have to hand it to them. However, the replacement lamp didn't work when I plugged it in. It was also very "dusty" and it's possible that it could have been used previously. The box it came in was pristine though. I was wondering if anyone else had had a similar problem with this comp ? Is it possible the lampholder could be faulty ? Many thanks, Sylvana |

If it is a Solarglo then A) it is only guaranteed for 6 months and B) Exo Terra told me when I contacted them that their bulbs should be replaced after 6-9 months use.
I can't see that the company would deliberately go to the trouble of sending you a bulb that doesn't work but have you tried another bulb in your holder to see if the holder is faulty? Sometimes the end of the bulb is not making contact with the copper bit in the bulb holder and needs prising up slightly BUT MAKE SURE IT IS UNPLUGGED FIRST The only bulb I know of that comes with a 12 month warranty is the Arcadia Last edited by Alan1; 23-05-2011 at 01:02 PM. |

I would take it back, get your money back and invest in an Arcadia D3 160w...if you can. (If it were me....)
