My tortoises stay out in there enclousures come rain or shine. I have had to bring the hermanns in for a bit as there enclousure flooded and I've had to drain it and make a few modifications. They all have dry shelters to goin if they want to.

Linda shell rot through wet conditions is due to animals lying on cold damp substrate 24/7 no reds are not more susceptible unless your set up is wrong and they are subjected to the above .

Well I did speak to Hoover on numerous occasions Darren and told him that if he was a hermanns then maybe I could excuse him, but a leopard with a damp fetsih!!
We had the worst storm of the year 2 days ago and I decided not to go out to check until it was over. Well of course the leopards would be indoors.......wouldn't they? Not Hoover. munching away on very soggy grass, absolutely sodden. I put him back inside and before I had locked the door for the night he came crashing back out of the dog flap - this was at dusk too!! Sue |
