Wiggly white lines on shell
I am starting a new thread about this as it has been mentioned in another and lots of people ask about them!
Are they a good thing or a bad thing? My understanding was that they were the laying down of calcium in the keratin which I thought was a good thing? Am I getting it wrong? My babies have all had times when they have had them but they are not there all the time, the babies growth looks smooth and good to me but is it a sign that they are growing too fast? |

That is my understanding too, only because I think that's what Danny has said.

I thought the same too. Today was the first time I had read that they could be considered a sign of fast growth. I assumed they were normal signs of growth and nothing to be concerned about.

So we still haven't had an answer from anyone about this, where are the experts!

I agree with Alley as well, I always thought it was calcium in the keratin and a good thing x

As far as I'm aware they are just there and don't really mean anything at all, appearing during new growth maybe? My pair have had them and it has not made any difference to anything.

I thought just a sign of growth - like tree rings count them and gives age was the old wives tale. When they are fifty they don't exist and turn a different darker colour with their age which I can vouch for....didn't think it too much of a problem unless obvious pyraminding - which isn't just food issues perhaps.....
