Different breeds
Just wondered if different breeds of tortoise can be in the same enclosure or whether they have to be seperated and also do you ever get cross breeds? x

I don't personnally mix species within an enclosure because of behavioural differences and the possibility of cross contamination of pathogens and or diseases. There are some keepers that do, but it is generally not advised to do so.
There have been cases of cross breeds |

I've heard its ok to mix redfoots and yellowfoots but other than that it tends to be no, all though you will get others who argue that there isn't a problem with it.

I think that mixing species is a NO!
I know of someone who had a leo and a sully in the same enclosure, and the leo died for 'unknown reasons'.... I suspect that it was because they were mixing species. They are now taking the sully to a tortoise vet, because they suspect that it might have caught something from the leo. I'm not sure about mixing subspecies though... Like having a hermanni hermanni with a hermanni boettgeri..... But I wouldn't risk it.

Even in species where there is some geographical overlap such as T Hermanni Boettgeri and T Gracea Ibera, I wouldn't consider mixing species. Mainly because the bulk of Hermanns now come from Slovenia and the bulk of Gracea Ibera from Turkey. No overlap between those two.
