Right I've just spent 30 mins having to sort the thread out. Lets remind people of a few things.
1) Your account on here is not a right - it's a privilege that can be removed at our discretion. 2) Discussion, even if it turns heated is allowed and encouraged - that's what the forum was set up for. Personal attacks however will lead to my first point being exercised. 3) Shelled Warriors is mostly self moderating because we're adults - I'd hope that Mod/Admin powers weren't generally needed. I don't like having to spend time deleting posts and closing threads, no-one does.

It had all calmed down, hadn't it? Have I missed something? Did it all start again and the posts been deleted or something?

I think maybe too much is made of toxic plants and plants high in oxalates etc. Horsfields are known to eat plants that are toxic to humans and other animals but have no effect on themselves. I see some of those nature programmes where animals live on poisonous insects etc. David Attenborough is never going to bother telling us what happens if a tortoise eats a lot of cabbage or dandelion. This varied diet thing.. I'm not sure torts bother much with that in the wild, they just eat what is available

Nothing started again, but I felt it seemed like the reminder was required and I didn't want bickering being archived on the forum for all time. To be clear, I'm not taking sides. I've got PM's coming out of my ears that broadly speaking are "he said/she said" telling tales. I wasn't around at the time when the posts were made and don't have 'a dog in the fight'. I'm here now and will be keeping an eye on things closely. If the personal attacks start again in any which way, be it snide comments or outright insults, people will find that they'll be taking a couple of weeks holiday from the forums. Repeat performances will see the holidays being made permanent. The line has been drawn in the sand.

Thank-you Andrew. Common sense prevails and we can go back to our nice bantering now hopefully, CB

Dandelions are a diuretic hence the old saying...think that was just mums trying to keep away from picking plants that stained your fingers....so yes they can dehydrate.
