Personally I'd either cover the outside with a coloured sticky backed plastic (Blue Peter style!), or maybe build an outer wooden box to drop the plastic one in which would look more attractive. |

hmm, change of plan. I am thinking of getting a bookcase and converting that instead as i reckon my storage bx a bit too small.
This is the link to the bookcase, what does everyone reckon? http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...er/6109486.htm 8) |

Looks cool, you could maybe even keep one of the shelves in, cut a doorway through and have a different type of substrate in the different part so he could pick or choose

You're weclome. TBF, all you need to do is just sit down with a pen and paper and *really* thank about your design. When i made mine, i printed off some pictures of different enclosures from here and chose all different bits that i liked, then desgined it
We bought the wood which cost £11 and me and my dad set about building it |

We looked at bookcases - the only reason we didn't get one was because we couldn't get one to fit the table we wanted to put it on - we have 2 dogs and didnt' want the tort table to be on the ground. Its certainly a cheap and easy way to do it and I woud've done if I could.
We made our tort table out of plywood. If you want some ideas of what we've put inside I've posted some pics today in the "pictures" forum. Hope it helps. Judith |

I've used 12mm exterior plywood for the base and back of mine (there's a large backboard with a photo graphic pasted on it), and solid pine for the sides and front, and I've made a seperate stand from pine so the table is 90cm (3ft) off the floor. Cost for the wood was £17 and the graphic cost another £15 to have printed, add a bit of glue, some screws and varnish, all of which I already have anyway and it's a pretty cheap table.
