Default Can they live together?

Hi all

I have 2 female,2 male hermann's.

Table 1 homes 1 male 1 female 8-9yrs
Table 2 homes 1 male 1 female roughly 3yrs

Can they live together? i understand that the ratio is normally 1 male to 3 females if im correct? But would it be possible for them to live in one home?

Thanks all

Adam

i would say try it, it depends on how large the table would be and how many hiding places they had, they may get on great they may not

lol that was a lot of help

hehe thanks. Do you have to block them off for a while you think? so they can smell each other but no contact? If they were able to live together that would be fantastic as i would be able to create one huge home rather then multi tables.

At the moment i have 3 seperate homes!

You have to try as it could work out well. But please keep a good eye on males together. They can fight and do a lot of damage. It just tends to be personalities.
One has to be alpha male, if the other challenges then fighting can happen.

Ill give it a go this weekend when ill be around to keep an eye on them all day then.

Question though regarding the Alpha male.. do one's that live together always get on? or would one case of showing aggro be enough to split them back up?

Adam I have a group of really old Spur Thighs that have lived together for over 50 years. There are 3 males and one female. The males are fine together (so far, I've only had them a short time) but I sometimes have to separate the female as they don't leave her alone.
These have always been kept in a garden so they have had plenty of space.
I think the point I'm trying to make is , yes, they can be ok but they have to have enough space and you have to be prepared to separate them, whether it's males from males or females from males.

Thank you for the reply Bindi,

With regards to space im looking into using the shed if its possible ( with heating etc ) which is about 2.5 meters in length by 2 meters if not bigger.

Would be lovley if they did get on. I have 3 homes incase i did have to seperate one or two. I will be crossing my fingers this weekend.

Have you got any pics of yours Bindi?

Thanks again
