Default Strange Links

I wonder if anyone could help, since the weekend some of the words and numbers when I view the forum are highlighted and when you click on them it takes you to different sites, like gaming sites or one was for some sort of lottery.

i'm pretty sure my nipper has something to do with it and has downloaded something , any ideas what it could be and how to get rid of it?

I did a malware scan and removed anything that was infected, I use AVG for my antivirus (the free one)

Is it adware or something like that?

That means the words have been book marked. Were they by a particular poster? If so that member is posting here and adding links to gambling sites.
Is it just you Bindi, or has it happened to other members?
If it's just you run a spy-ware scan... like malware, you can download for free.

No they weren't by one particular poster/member Anita, don't know if anyone else has this problem. I've just done another scan with AVG and it hasn't picked up anything. The AVG is supposed to have antispyware and adware.

Is anyone else is seeing these highlighted numbers or words ?

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is free and very good for getting rid of things like this. I some how got something very irratating on my laptop and couldn't get rid of it. Sara's (Neddy) boyfriend suggested Malwarebyes and it worked a treat. Got rid of it straight away when I had been trying for ages.

You could download an run Adware SE which might do it. Or go into control panal, add/remove programs and look for and remove a program called TypeText or anything similar, recently installed that looks out of place. Its meant to be a fancy gimmick for advertisers bolted onto sites, also known as scumware.

Or try switching it off and back on again.

And lay off the online bingo.

I'm pretty sure AVG Free already does that though.

edit.. it has anti spyware. it has to be updated regularly though as all anti virus is only as good as yesterdays virus. they only find out about some new viruses after people have them
