General questions about indoor housing and lamps
I was wondering if it is ok to make my tortoise table out of mdf as its cheap to make also i would use a paint over it i know in another topic that has been posted it says use a water based paint so is this ok to use because i want it kind of waterproof because the table will go soggy and that wouldnt be very good!
Also with the lamps i want to get one of the heat and uv combined one with a dome reflector (the silver dome one and the t-rex 100w flood lamp) to go around this is this enough or do i need another uv strip or basking lamp aswell because im not completley sure on wether it will be enough. Do i need anything for night time to keep it wwarm or cool it down etc. (As you are probably thing im new to this but i want the very best for my tortoise) Im planning on getting a hermann tortoise and the size of the table top will be 1 meter 10 length by 60 cm width. Any help would be appreciated! Thankyou!!

I wouldnt have a clue what temp is it supposed to be around? Because if its lower then what my house is then what can i put in it to cool it down?
With the mdf and varnish is there any specific varnish or paint i need to use or is ordinary stuff fine? Thanks

hi
any pet safe varnish will be fine i really doubt you will ever have to cool a table top down buy a thermometer and check you normal room temps at night most houses do not drop below 10c so hermann torts will be fine overnight infact they need a night time drop |
