Question Can someone tell me what they feed their tort

Can someone please tell me what they feed their tortoise daily so i can get a rough idea of what more experienced owners would consider what a healthy diet for a tortoise would be.

Birdie, what kind of tort do you have? The advice varies by species.

I feed mt torts various weeds/plants that are safe for them to have. This website is brilliant, you just type in the name of weed/plant and it tells you if its safe to feed. http://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/s...ise_home_1.asp

I also feed a few pellets once a week, Last ones I got from a member on here http://www.shelledwarriors.co.uk/for...ghlight=MAZURI

Also you can feed Florette salad when stuck for other stuff(the pack without the iceberg in)

also Pre Alpin mixed with whatever your feeding, Jane on here sells it

Hope this helps!

Weeds, pre alpin cobs(dried weeds that you soak in water, really good for winter when weeds are hard to come by!) and mazuri pellets once or twice a week

Romaine Lettuce with a fruit and a veg plus calcium powder on top every day is this too much fruit

Yeah fruit and veg isn't really ideal, maybe as a rare treat and lettuce is mainly water so not much nutritional content. Weeds are best maybe with occasional pellets. Tortoise table is a great website.

It's hard at this time of year but I still have found some fresh Dandelion and sow thistle out there. Pre Alpin is a fav of mine but as a last, last resort will give Romaine lettuce or florette with pellets.

No fruit or veg ever for my 3.
