Hi
We live in Cyprus and rescued a hermans tortoise about 7 years ago. I took him to the vets but unfortunately they seemed to no less than me.
He has always lived outside and have built him a secure area as he always try's to escape.
We have noticed him today what looks like humping rocks and also butting.
Any ideas why he is doing this, it went on for about 2 hours and now he has gone to sleep. He seemed quite happy,I wondered what it's all about ?

Sounds like he has reached sexual maturity:0)
Once males reach this they will hump and bash the nearest thing. All normal behaviour.
