Ok i just got a reply to my email i sent to the old owner.

Yes TGG north african , possibly Oran Algerian .

You must be careful not mix this tortoise they are vey prone to RNS .

You have it now but informing Defra for further advise is important .

HAHA just phoned Defra.Talk about not wanting to know.His answer was what did i want to do about it,and when i said i wanted to sort it out and registered.He said i didnt need too for a pet.So i need info on keeping this species of tortoise please.Is it just the same as a horsfield?

Similar as for housing,diet and supplements wise .

Tgg aren't good in cold or damp areas so outdoor life in the UK is limited to good summer months/days unless greenhouse cover can be provided.if hiberanting they must be in well ventilated areas kept strictly dry

These little tortoises aren't common in the uk and few keepers keep them let alone breed true Tgg



I keep a small group of these tortoises if you want any more info only to glad to help so anything else please ask but best start a new thread
