Thank you, she's just gone in. I have to go back to pick her up this afternoon.

Michelle sorry to read about your little darlings - I hope they will be fighting fit again soon - I had to spend out £400 within the first 4 month of rehoming one of mine and she will always be prone to infections ( in fact she is on A/B again now).
I really dont cope very well when any of them are ill - I feel so useless. I hope Torty tolerates the tube it must be awful for you. Good luck with them both Michelle - x x each for them |

Thank you so much Evie, no I'm not the best when my little babies are ill either, but I am getting through it.
Went to pick Torty up today. She has had the tube fitted but they are keeping her in for a few days to see how she will get on with it. I have to go to get her Friday afternoon and they are going to show me what to do. They told me they are not charging me for keeping her in tho which is a good thing. |

That's a bonus at least. The vet you have there must but pretty decent. The ones here just know about cows and sheep and cats and dogs

dont know the answer wish i did, some of the ones ive looked after have turned out to be parisites, deidration, run down needed fluids straight into the stomach others have been old torts that people have had for years come out of hibernation and never started eating, the owner of this perticular tortoise could not sleep at night with worry, the chap brought him to me after trying everthing else, he stayed with me for 6 weeks, the look on the owners face when he collected him was worth everthing, that tortoise is around 80 years old and still lives with his lady friends.I think stress can play a big part in it, could even be another tortoise giving it a hard time, could be canker in the mouth, there are lots of reasons for them not eating.
