They eat crickets mainly. I know what you mean but I figure the crickets would be gobbled up by a predator somewhere anyway. They get to eat lots of yummy apple to gut load them before going in the terranium. The boys are very much naturalists and particularly so my eldest, so he simply sees it as a natural cycle that predator eats prey, even though it's artificially recreated in a terranium!

Originally they were going to have a tropical fish tank but I know they'd love something a bit more exotic. There was no way I wanted a snake here, my daughter is frightened of spiders, so that ruled out tarantulas and I also said no to scorpions and other suggestions made by the boys. This fits the bill perfectly for them and the rest of the family are happy having arboreal frogs in the home.
We're all quite taken with them and I have an instinct another terranium will be saved up for at some point so they can have a whites tree frog or a gecko.
