3 new females hermanni hermanni.. italian? HermanniChris23?
Hi!
More 3 tortoises are joining the family here. three 8 year old females hermanni hermanni, around 10cm. I've been told they are italian origin. HermanniChris23 can you please advise their origins within italy (which area of italy) by the pics please? I also have three 1 year old hermanni hermanni (pics already here in an older post) and was told those are Corsica origin (http://www.shelledwarriors.co.uk/for...ad.php?t=69076) ofcourse they are all housed in separate tables |

It's basically impossible to know where exactly in Italy they originate from. Within every population there are individuals that look extremely similar, and some that look like they are from somewhere else. There are of course constants which I discuss on www.hermannihaven.com but again, not every tortoise has them in a given locality.
What can you find out about the adults? Are they small? Round? large? darker or lighter? My first indication would be Puglia (Apulia) because you have both lighter examples and darker examples. They do not look Calabrian to me for sure or Majorcan (Spain) for that matter. |

tks Chris, the breeder tells me they are italian "small form", 10cm.
Dan believes they look like Corsican. Do you think they are italian, so? As soon as possible I'll post more pics. tks |
