Default Doggy personal question

Milo has very long silky hair underneath and when he wee's it gets wet, this then stains and stiffens his hair, it seems to annoy him as he's always trying to wash himself. Other than regular baths can anyone suggest anything, I wonder whether if I cut away some hair it would help ? however I would have thought that nature put it there for a purpose.

Trim it up. Nature didn't put it there man did when they breed different types of dog.
