It's a real pain. I was able to candle the two pipped eggs and it's the same story, lots of yolk still visible. It's either the humidity spike (which I rectified on Saturday) or the only other thing I can think of is a Co2 build up in the eggs causing them to break through early. I've blacked out the incubator so hopefully their more inclined to stay in the egg with no light.
Its going to be a long week...and the second clutch I'm going to leave well alone. |

This is getting depressing now. The hatchling in the last egg to pip has also died. Never got beyond making a slit in the shell.
The two remaining ones are looking ok for now. Ill let you know once they've absorbed their yolks. |

You really are not having much luck with these. Hopefully the last 2 will hatch fine!

Thanks.
The *remaining two are doing ok. The first to hatch tried to bite me when I was changing her clingfilm "wrap" last night which I take as a good sign. I've put them in a black plastic tub in the incubator to prevent any light getting in and this seems to be keeping the hatchling still in the egg in place rather than it making a break for it. |

Try not to be too despondent mate, I know it's tough but you know there are going to be some valuable lessons somewhere in this xxx
