hi bernards mom
you may find this link useful http://www.tortoisetrust.org/articles/roaming.html could you not get an outdoor shed or perhaps a dog kennel which you could heat and have access to an outdoor enclosure |

wot does BTW mean?
i wouldnt get a new tortoise yet so dont panic! i am very impatient and was more likely to before comin on here, but i have alot to learn yet and i dont have the room yet anyway. i have just bought a load of timber 7" x 2" x 16ft and it was delivered today. here is my plan..... make a rectangle 10ft x 6ft, and 2 pieces of timber high. lay a big patio slab in 1 corner so that the house can go on it. (a small animal house sugested on here somewhere for £16) kited out with cork sides and heat lamp. either a cat litter tray or prob small plastic dog bed for a bath. rocks to climb over and hide under. over turned plant pots to hide in. and a cold frame at 1 end that i will put 50 sand and 50 soil mix in. the area is all ready grassed but have a huge list of plants/flowers to put in. if i buy the seeds they may be big enough to plant by the time i finish! what does every1 think. i will def put pics on of finished result.

sounds good to me, I so enjoy doing my enclosures. Hubby and youngest son often comment about whether there will be any garden left one day; t is so huge I doubt that will happen and to be honest I spend most of my time out there and they do not.

I have the tortoise house you mention above, and I dont think it would be big enough for a leopard. I use mine for a horsfield and the door is only just big enough for her.

Your plan sounds good, but you might be better with a shed or a homemade house, made with a heavy, strong large leopard in mind
Keep up the good work
