What a good idea. If you buy a bookcase do you have to waterproof it before you use it as a Tortoise Table? If so how do you do this so it is safe?

I've just bought 2 of Argos deep wide bookcases for early awakeners-no more please,I won't be able to get into bed!!I've stapled really thick polythene onto the bottom and about 3" up the sides and it works well
