In the wild red foots would eat live prey such as beetles, snails slugs etc
These are a source of protein Some people do feed their red foots protein in the form of snails and chicks However i cold not do that, there are far to many additives in cat food for me (recommended protein for reds) so i chose to use mazuri

Obvioulsy having Mazuri shipped overseas will mean it costs that bit more.
Question is, how much are people willing to pay for a 1lb bag of Mazuri? Bcos I don't want to get tons in & have people go "thats too much money" when I'm going to be selling it at cost price plus UK postage prices. |

One of these days it's going to click that all of these diets are formulated on a basic biological model. What this means is that there is a very general ratio of nutrients that are believed to be essential nutrients. As far as I know... there isn't anyone who actually knows the exact ratio... because... there is none. The required ratio is going to vary depending on the individual animal/person.
Now... understanding the above will help with the next part... The diets I suggest I either have first hand knowledge of the effectiveness of the diet or I have done extensive research on the diet. Those that I recommend I have no problem using them on my own animals or recommend. I am more critical of recommending anything because the last thing I want to do is be responsible for helping to kill someone elses animal. Finally... in the UK you can easily find Mazuri(UK), NutraZu, T-Rex tortoise diet, Pretty Pets tortoise diet and Monster tortoise diet. All of these... even though the formula is not exactly the same... they are similar enough to provide the same results. Hope that clarify things. Quote:
