Default please help with ID's :)

More stuff is sprouting up all over the front garden now, can anyone identifu=y these?

1) really low growing deep reddish purple leaves in the lawn

2) tiny white flowers on long stems appearing everywhere!

3) All different colour flowers (i know more a plant than a weed but its everywhere!)

4) Something that was hard to pick, very spiky round the edges!

Also then new leaves on my rosebush are growing red, are they ok to feed? I know rose is safe but cant find any mention of the red leaves anywhere. Thanks everyone!

thanks, oh yes i know... i have plantian growing EVERYWHERE!!! i feed it as 50% of their diet (being pancakes they require a high fibre diet) and they get catsear most days too. I wont complain as i know lots of people would love to raid my garden for plantain.... i never even noticed it before i got torts, just assumed the lawn was full of grass, boy was i wrong haha.

The bottom one is just a common thistle, they do eat them when they are just small plants and not jagged so much

I fed thistle before but I chopped the edges off, another good way to get rid of the spikes on top of the leaf is to scrape with a knife or a blade of scissors. Mine were small then so I didnt want the spikes hurting them.

I fed it last year and they werent too bothered about it.

thanks for the thistle advice think ill chop the spikes off and see what they think of it, if i know my torts they will just ignore it and eat all the plantain anyway, thats what usually happens :P
