Scottish Meeting
I'm just wondering whether anyone else would be interested in maybe starting up an informal group in Scotland. Folks seem to be a bit scattered geographically but we could mabye meet up somewhere central every couple of months; initially just to share experiences and ideas. Any thoughts?

it might be an idea but as you say, everyone is well scattered. there's someone on here from caithness. I prefer the internet really, not so far to travel

I would be willing to give this a go if others are interested. Even if it was only them in the central belt.

I would be well up for this. My employer also matches any amount upto £2000 raised for any charity so I'm thinking of perhaps organising a tortoise charity event in Glasgow/near if anyone would be interested.

When I originally posted about a scottish meeting it kinda fell by the way as we were all quite scattered. I (along with 2 reptile specialists) are now starting to organise informal get togethers so we can discusss reptiles / amphibians. It's headed "Highland / Moray Reptile Meet" and, as the name suggests, we'll take turns to meet in say Inverness / Nairn / Elgin etc. We're in the process of publicising this but anyone who might be intereted would be more than welcome to come along. Let me know and I'll give you more details. The stuff we discuss is really varied as we all keep different reptiles (with some cross-overs) but lots of the husbandry / health etc topics are relevant to all. Above all it's great fun. It would be great to boost with more tort keepers! As I say contact me if you'd like more info.
