Lost Tortoise, Bournemouth
My 5 year old male Herman tortoise went missing on 16th June 2012. He has a distictive lip on his shell between the top and and the back. My children miss him so much, they keep calling out his name hoping he will come out of his hiding place. We thought our garden was secure enough for him not to escape, so maybe a fox has taken him??? I have put up posters and contacted the local vet, so hopefully we will get him back soon. If you hear of a tortoise being found in Bournemouth (particularly the Kinson area) then please let me know.

Hi
So sorry to hear about your tortoise. There is a good chance with the rubbish weather we have been having that he has buried himself somewhere in your garden. Favourite places are under compost heaps or at the roots of shrubs, under sheds etc. I'm sure you have gone over your garden with a fine tooth comb but keep searching, especially when the weather warms up and the sun is out. You may just find him sunning himself. Fingers crossed he turns up for you, please do keep us informed |

This might give you hope... My tortoise Dolly had been lost for 10 months, but she turned up a couple of weeks ago in the garden.
