I'm so sorry for your loss. Big hugs to you.
The pet crematorium we have locally is excellent. I think you'll find having her ashes home will be a comfort. Many horror stories are just that - stories - and that goes for human crems too. The majority are excellent and ensure remains do not get mixed up or mixed together. Everything is in place to ensure nothing like that happens.

Its never easy to lose a pet, especially not after so many years together.

So sorry to hear your sad news, I have 4 cats and 1 probably hasnt got that long left, I dread the day that everyone dreads.
My sister had her cats ashes in a casket that she kept in her living room which was fine when it was first there but as quite a long time has now passed it has made it difficult to know what to do with them, she says now that she should have scattered them straight away because it feels too late to do that now so she is unsure what to do now that the grief has gone.
You must do what feels right for you
