nothing wrong with bringing them in at night if its going to be a cold one and you don't have outside heating, especially if you aren't hibernating and don't want them to start to slow down. Plus if the following days weather isn't good they just won't come out if they can't warm up.

None of mine have extra heat outside yet, still to warm.
Probably towards the end of the month they will.

if a thermostat is set at 10c it won't be long before it kicks in some nights.

Mine are out.. It's not been warm here really, they've had their heat lamps on for a few hours in the mornings and have been favouring the cold frames for the nights.

Brought my 2 into tonight, first time since May ........ Got 9c last night and I have no additional heating and with heavy rain on the way I had to bite the bullet.

Feel bad for them, they're gonna hate being indoors......

My boys have been inside the last couple of days, they only have a coldframe outside and they just wernt warming up, the juvenile girls warmed up nicely in the sheds, but yesterday got stuck outside all day in the pouring rain, i put them in the shed at tea time and they had a lovely warm up with stretched out legs lol, then they had something to eat x

Once the sun got going today it was lovely here. It doesn't half get chilly once the sun disappears though!
My lot are starting to get used to a bit more time indoors.

Same as Sandy, out 24/7 and loving it. They still have the scramble bug even though it was cold today and rained for most of it. Just bought another 6 x 4 pop up greenhouse! They have really dropped in price. They have tortoise heaven written all over them, even the mini ones, mega easy to put up and move around too. My lot are dipping in and out of them all day even though it is raining outside. They survived for millions of years so I guess they know best! CB

CB.... I am interested in the 'pop up greenhouse'. I have been looking for something to extend the outdoor season.... Do you have the cloche ones or proper high walk in ones x x x hugs x
