Default Bertie is up!

You may recall that Bertie dug down and 'disappeared' a couple of weeks ago. Today I found him on the top under a small towel and just lying quietly and then just looked at me. The problem is obviously the warm weather.

Beatrice has been winding down, but head still out. She hasn't eaten for 2 weeks. I last bathed her about 5 days ago and she had not moved for the last 3, until today.

This is when I needed the mobile app to get some help!

So, I took the decision to give them a tepid bath. They both just lay there quietly and seemed quite content. Then back in under two towels in their pen (didn't put Bertie back in hibernation chamber). Neither of them urinated or pooped. Didn't drink the water.

I really wasn't sure if I should be bathing Bertie in particular, but my instinct was to ensure they were hydrated. I have never had to do this before.

Thoughts please.

I wouldn't worry too much, a cool bath is a good idea. It's going to get colder by the end of the week, I expect he will finally settle down then. All of mine but two haven't moved for a week, these two are fighting it, keep stomping around and I've been putting them outside still , for a couple of hours each day, and today Noah didn't come out, but Jemima ( my old lady) is still stomping around 😧

I agree with this totally, just don't feed them they will go down in their own time, and when the temps drop more.

Thank you.

That is re-assuring.

I won't be giving them anything to eat and indeed it was easy as they were not looking for anything. Both very calm and later they had not moved from where I had put them after their bath.

I can't believe I am looking forward to the colder weather!
