Default separating old torts x

just wondered what peoples opinions on separating 2 old rehomed torts ...both torts have been together for over 40 years , a male and a female , female when i got her needed vet treatment , and has got cateracs . she also had a bad eye infection , i have separated them so the male didnt catch infection , when i try to reintroduce them together he is constantly hounding her .i have a new home awaiting them both , but wondered if i should let her stay with me with all my old girls ..or keep them together .

I would keep the old girl, but that's just what I would do, that way you can
let her retire in peace x

People separate couples then reintroduce them to encourage breeding behaviour. The male appreciates what he has, ha. So I think this is maybe why he is hounding her.
