Reds first eggs all advice needed and welcome
My red foots have had 8 eggs now ( these are my first) 1 of the eggs I noticed had mould on so I quickly took it out and it fell apart in my hands and all the inside was black
The others have been in for 2 months now and from what can tell look healthy, I've tried candling the but not really sure what I'm looking for, they all have a pinkish glow to them which I hope is good, I'm incubating them at 30 degrees and trying to keep humidity to around 70-85% Please any advice |

Are they sitting on a damp substrate? 30C sometimes is to high for Redfoot eggs and can make them want to not develop. 29C is usually a better incubation temperature for Redfoots. Is it at all possible for someone to hold a torch on the eggs (in a dark room) and have you take a picture (no flash)?

Yeah they are on vermiculite 50/50 I've just had a look and found a small hole in one of the latest eggs what does this mean? And I will try and get some pics and put them on for you soon

I thought the same, I'm so gutted! I don't think my male is doing his job properly yet, they are doing all the motions, she's had 12 eggs in 4 month now 2 went bad and I found holes in them? Is this because they are not fertile?

I only have experience of horsfield eggs so I dont know the best conditions to incubate reds, not sure if they were infertile or if something has gone wrong during incubation, did you ever see any veins in them?

Probably not fertile then I assume they were fresh when you found them and that you didnt rotate them or anything?
