guess what rapid grass seed has now also sprouted over the weekend

next job indoor/winter house to be made as think it will be easy to heat than the greenhouse. have drawn Tom a plan of what I want so need to get in few bottles of cider to sweeten him up then we can get started on new leopard house although Tom keeps calling her a tiger

will post pictures as construction takes place hopefully this week or next weekend

planning on building house where washing line currently is. I mean choose between washing line or new tort house well there is no competition in my mind who needs a washing line when you have a tumble dryer

Hi lisa
excellent enclosure very impressive it will look really good when the grass has come through completely
The disinfectant spoken about is virkon but unless this area has been used for other tortoises recently i wouldn't bother it will be fine

as you are aware this is a temporary enclosure for my lodger a female leopard but it will become a permanent enclosure for my two redfoot babies when they are big enough.

I am worried about grassing the whole enclosure as once the grass is established it is hard to get rid of. Plus this is really for my redfoots so what other substrate can I use to fill in the gaps. can I use bark in some areas? Is there a substrate that is suitable for both redfoots and leopards or not

thinking about it realistically the leopard will not be in the enclosure during the winter so she may only be in it for a few months until her owner picks her up next year sometime. then again he may decide not to pick her up at all. so this time next year we maybe be building her a new enclosure of her own

been doing a bit more playing in the new run. gap behind row of slabs is for polycarbon tunnel to lead through to new house. weather permitting we will be constructing that this weekend

next picture is from bedroom window shows both new enclosure plus existing Ibera enclosure which is in need of updating. once Iberas slow down I will get out and revamp their enclosure ready for next year

no not yet as I have not been able to get hold of Julie from HTS yet maybe she's on holiday

I think even if we don't get house finished this weekend we can still let the leopard move in as we can sort her out something indoors for over night temporarily
