Enclosure size for 4 adult hermans?

Hi

Just wondering what is a good sized enclosure for 4 adult hermans?

I have 3 at the min, one 7yrs (M), one 8yrs (F) and one 4yrs (F) and in the future i want to add another young female

So i am wondering what is an adequate space for 4 adult hermans? (1 male, 3 females) What length, depth and what height? Im guesing it needs to have a good height for females to have enought substrate to lay in.

I would say the bigger the better but 30ft by 20ft is about the minimum

indoors you may need to keep the male seperate from the females,otherwise it could be chaos as he tries to get his wicked way.

A tortoise table is not really suitable for adult tortoises. You need to buy a shed and divide the floor into pens. The male should be kept seperate from the females and only put in for mating. The area for nesting needs a depth of soil as long as the back legs and a bit more. My adults are only indoors for a few weeks after hibernation, then they go into the shed with adequate heating and lighting. When the weather is warm they get put outside into a large area.

I have a group of 4 adult hermans. Their "indoor space" is an 8 x 6 greenhouse. This seems fine for them & the male lives happily with the females. They do have access to a large outside area but when the weather is better.

That is an outright stupid minimum.

How big are your enclosures and how many do you have in each enclosure?

4 adult Hermanns could easily do very well in a 10 x 10 ft enclosure. Yes... bigger is better but that wasn't the question.

I have 1 young sully who weighs around 1000gr and she is alone in a 6x4ft table, I'm not sure on the size of an adult herman but assuming they are the same or bigger my table would maybe take one more but certainly no more. My table also takes up as much room as a single bed and I wouldn't want anything much bigger in my spare bedroom so I'd be looking at outside space or maybe some sort of stacking system if you have to have them inside, but they'd be split up in a stack although you could have the upstairs as part of the same table with a ramp I suppose.
