Default My new babies are here!

Two hatchling girls - 91 days and 109 days today - were delivered to me yesterday! The breeder was lovely and extremely helpful and she seemed pleased with my set up for them (which I never did get round to photographing for your critique!)

The babies came out of their travel box, into the tort table and immediately tucked into some food having slept for most of their long (over 3 hours) journey. Then they both went for a good run round the table exploring everything before tucking into more food! At some time around 8pm they tucked themselves into bed - one snuggled down into the readigrass, and the other semi-buried herself in the substrate too.

This morning I had to get them up (turned the light on and left it on for 15 mins before disturbing them to see if they'd locate it themselves) but the breeder advised putting them under the lamp first thing for the first few days until they've got used to my set up. They've been offered their main meal of the day but having only been up an hour haven't nibbled much yet.

They are just so lovely, I could sit and watch them all day!

Congratulations - your tortoises sound delightful .. Tortoises are very addictive... I spend a lot of time looking at mine when I should really be getting on with my house work... lol

Photo time!! Here are my favourite pics.

Luna is on the right, Iris on the left.

Luna is chilling in a nice warm bath... Iris doesn't mind the bath, but her main preoccupation is always with her stomach!

Iris scoffing again!

Luna stretching out in the 'sun' (lamp!) She likes to sprawl her back legs out!
