Rach, 32ish reached in about 10 mins of lamps going on. Both mine are 125w. One is a solar glo, the other I can't remember at the mo. One does give out more heat than the other as I have to have it higher to get the same temp as the other one, which is lower Can check tomorrow if you are interested.

Yeah i have only just started using 160w, the arcadia about the same as the old 100w, i sourced some of the old 100w megaray's from old stock in a shop, have been using these for the last two years.

With what heat your leaving on during the day, Lily will be fine, maybe sleep more and not eat as much. I sorta can see that the hibernation pro's and con's cause debate, but it can be bloody hard for some providing this false summer.

This is my point, if for a few week's this happens with all you have in equipment, there's not much more you can do except add another spot or a higher wattage. Lily would ride this exceptional weather till it stabalizes, with your existing bulbs/heat. If this -16c **** were to hit me prolonged, the Leopard's would go down to about 50c-60c i reckon, they would be able to ride this, i'm sure.

Maybe missed a bit, was going to say the basking spot diminishes and becomes just an overall background heat and the tort will sleep it out/slow down for a while.
When they are in the wild, the weather is not guarenteed, even more so in the day's of changing climates.

Hi Rach try not to worry if Lily slows down a bit-he'll soon perk up once the extreme cold passes.I agree try putting in extra shelter round the 3 sides of the table that are not next to the radiator to focus the basking heat into a smaller area,or maybe buy a tubular heater?these cost pennies to run but can boost the ambient temperature when CH is off.You are very good at finding solutions and I'm sure Lily will be just fine.Heating costs are a big worry I agree.
