Hi all after very much anticipation and a few tears from the girls we decided that we would take the tort back, I no she was very lovley and all but i didnt want a tort that was gonna end up in the garden and weighing a ton.
But i do really appreciate the help and advice you have given us. Our local reptile guy recons from the photos its a spur-thigh. PS. The lady were i got it from contacted the guy from londen from who says its not his problem any more and sort it out yourself!!! this guy needs locking up or reporting to the appropriate authority. Happy ending ive now got a horsefield tort. yay

So have you got a Horsefield too? You mentioned just, that you have now got one of those? Sorry if I have come accross weird here!!...
So you will have 2 in total...when you get the other one back??? The Article 10 you will need for the other tortoise (if its not a Horsefield). And as they are 2 different breeds then you will need to keep separate and not cross mingle. See what others say on this. I am NOT very au fait with Article 10s....or have a read back on this post. If you have both, then I am very very happy for you. I do think that you have alot of love to give and I think you do want to do the right thing xxx Just keep posting up questions as there is a lot to learn, but once you get things set up right, and your knowledge base grows...its very rewarding. Be aware though that they (or if you have 1, he) might not be very responsive for a while. This is totally normal, they need time and patience to settle in. Keep handling to a minimum as this WILL stress them out, they will end up pooing or weeing on your hand - this is a nervous/stress reaction. xxx Claire...good luck, PM me if you need help with your set ups. Or likewise post on here. xxx You will be fine. |
