Default What is Calendula?

I have just been to Homebase and bought some African Marigolds, Are these Calendula? I also bought the other day French Marigolds and Petunias are these safe to eat for torts?

Tagetes = French / African Marigold not edible

hi Linda Thanks for advising me, For some reason I thought all Marigolds are Calendula lol

Petunias are safe, which is good How about Lobelia and Aubretia? are these safe too?

Aubretia is edible Have no clue about Lobelia, but I'm sure somebody else will be happy to advise you on that.

Lobelia is classed as a no. Mimulus is another plant and snapdragon are ok.

Ive just realised I am growing from seed Calendula lol...I got so much growing I dont even know what ive got hehe...Although the young shoots do look leggy and are drooping. Is this normal? should I prop them up with sticks? there is leaf growth which is good but the stems dont look strong enough to hold it up. Grown in multi purpose compost.Right in front of the window, south facing. Any tips
