Good results using a weed/plant based diet?
I feel like im fighting a loosing battle on another forum.
The arguement is about pellets again. My arguement is that a proper mixed weed diet DOES produce healthy tortoises and no need for pellets even if they meet all the nutritional needs. PLEASE PLEASE Post pictures and your experience of a weed based diet. How are your tortoises growing smooth? are they healthy? etc etc I would post pictures of my healthy 100% fed on weed diet iberas, but my camera is broken.

Ibera hatched February 2008, 100% weed diet. Has been living outdoors 24/7 when weather permits.

Am i in the Twilight Zone!
I am lost for words. Are you trying to say that " people" believe that you can't get smooth carapaces on torts without tortoise pellets? As far as I have read and discussed with other experienced tort owners and breeders, there is never an instance where you should feed pellets over a balanced weed diet supplemented with calcium. My juveniles have never been near a tortoise pellet and their carapaces are fine. And the photo to proove it is on the left.
Good Luck with your argument. From my point of view it's a no brainer- WEEDS YES! PELLETS NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Don't actually have a tort yet (still doing my homework) but judging by these pics mine will most definately be fed on a weed diet. All the torts in these pics look lovely, healthy and happy, and i can't wait till i get one of my own!
