Hebe at Aldi 8th Oct
choice of seven, £2.99 ea
http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/2827_11493.htm they use them more for shelter rather than food but my torts did eat one of my hebes in the spring. ... also succulents at Lidl the same day, doesn't say exactly what but you may be paying over the odds because of the pot http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pa...Stone_Pots.ar1 sometimes you can get a bargain in IKEA with those kind of plants Last edited by Alan1; 02-10-2009 at 07:10 AM. |

Lolly and Lizz, I think it's more the case that none (as far as I know) are toxic or bad for them. I have dwarf hebes and in the spring time just before flowering the torts went mad eating the leaves on one of them but didn't touch the other. The one they didn't touch gets used for hiding under, they love being under it. It will be interesting to see if the same thing happens next spring

bought 2 hebe's yesterday at Tesco for £1.38 each. They had been reduced, so must have been there a while, but they looked gorgeous.

Oh aye, I remember I got a couple a while ago in Tesco, one was the little green ball type. I think they were either 1.99 or 1.49 at the time maybe

Can i get some of these with no worries if they are toxic or bad ?? I am thinking ahead to when i do lilys new tort table. was thinking of putting a couple or just one in for him to have a little hiding place - but wont if its bad if they end up chewing it! Lily is quite fussy anyway, so that isnt to say he would. Also, i presume all care instructions will be with it, - if i plant in...will this grow roots downwards and get all mashed up at the base of the table?? Or will this be ok - i mean, it wont shrivel and die will it as soon as i put it in...or do people leave them in the pots..?
