Can I leave my torts out
Its been over 30C here today in Leeds, the torts have been out all day!
I might sound like a baby but I have never left mine out before over night. Phoebe and Daisy are 2 years old approx and the younger two are 18 months old. I have them out in a large rabbit cage with topsoil about 3 inches deep with a wooden hide. Would it be okay to leave them out? Thanks |

Has the cage got holes in for drainage sophie? (although it probably wont rain!) but yes they will be fine.
My hatchings stay out in one overnight (from 10 grams upwards & on & off weather dependant from a few weeks old) |

Thanks, I've decided to keep them out! I've sort of hidden the cage so its not really visible and the temps are still warm! They have all buried down now. I'm so paranoid I'm going to be worrying all night lol. x

Rain in itself wont hurt them, but of course the flooding will. If you cover the top and back with plastic and weight it down while its raining. They will be fine left over night. Its what I do with my smaller tortoises so they can stay out 24/7.

Although a bit nervous tonight. Bathed both this morning and they've lazed around but George decide to go in the wild side of rerun where're weeds have gone mad during the wet.
Now I can't find him. Normally when he does this we can. But today he's totally hidden. He can't dig out and can't climb out so has to be there. But I cannot find him. |
