Leopards and climbing

Hello all, I came home from work today and found gary had escaped to the garden behind mine, but there are 8 foot fence panels seperating us, no obvious holes, could he have climbed over?!

No way. I have 8, and they're the most UN-athletic animals I have seen. In my adult pen, the walls are just RR Ties about 9" tall. I think mine would trip over a shadow. I bet you'll find a spot under.

Thinking similar as above, i've watched my two scramble over object's like small boulder's, nearly tipping in the process. Never under estimate a Tortoise but think's 2 foot high fence would contain most Leopards, 8 foot is Olympic record height

Well mine used to climb up is wooden stick house and then over the edge of his table, but 8ft fence is probably impossible for any torts. You got a gap somewhere or they dug a hole maybe lol

I have leopards. They do climb but i would say 8ft is a bit too high.

Mine try and barge thru next doors fence. I did put railway sleepers along the bottom of the fences but they just climb up on them.

I have heard of leopards scaling a 4' chain-link fence, but with leopards a visual barier is almost good enough. They tend not to test boundaries. There are exceptions.

ours use each other to climb out.mainly George as Mildred is too big to go on his back.Once he's escaped its off to the undergrowth and complete camoflague.Had many a tearful phone call from the wife as she cant find him and thinks he's got out.

Sorry forgot to say.What we do now is follow the suns direction and thats where he'll be.Or in the veg patch helping himself.
