Default Marginated tortoise diet?

Hi guys I've had my marginated tortoise for just over a month now and I have been feeding him on dandelions leaves/flowers and Rose petals mixed with pellets. But I have run out of dandelions and running low on Rose petals so feeding him on morrisons classic bagged lettuce and curly kale mixed with the pellets his previous owner gave me. And obviously giving him calcium powder with it.

Hi Roberta, I've got a few over wintering this year, I use bags of florette crispy lettuce with lambs lettuce , some curly kale, a few dandelions ( not many left now) winter pansies, tescos have them quite cheaply, pre Alpin , and I'm going to try Komodo pellets ( for the first time) I've been told twice a week and dried flowers from SW , you can also get dried weeds and herbs , and of course calcium and nutrobal , hope that helps a bit.

Winter feeding of a Tortoise pellet advertised as a complete food, should be ok, if you prefare to feed it. As the main weekly nutrition twice a week, the other green stuff fill in's, like bagged mixed salad, what weed/plant's there is, steady on the Kale, Pre Alpin can be mixed in with a pellet mush can add a little chopped tinned tomato.

Some keeper's will not feed any fruit's, i hardly ever do, although there could be a gap in nutrition and ok to feed occasionlly. If only a few item's fed through the winter like lettuce leaves. Wild and free roaming garden Tortoises have been known to gorge on fallen fruit's.

Strawberries no more than once or twice in a summer, a rare treat, not sure about the tinned tomatoes .
